Can’t remember anything? Missed an important date today or forgot someone’s birthday? Use a desktop calendar to pin important events to your desktop. There are many free desktop calendars, but not all of them are good. Rainlendar is one of the best.
Here’s a screenshot how it will look like on your desktop:
Every event that you add can be assigned to a category. Whenever you assign a category, you will see a category icon on the left side of the event name. This might help to get a quick overview. On top of that each category has it’s own color, so each day will have a different icon and color depending on the event that you added:
Event Manager:
Rainlendar comes with an integrated event manager and todo-list that allows you to pin important stuff onto your desktop:
You can even define a recurrence and make sure that you won’t forgot a birthday of someone next year. A pre-defined alarm message and sound is also possible. If you want to get an alarm days before the actual event Rainlendar can notify you and open a specified URL for you. This would probably work as a nice surprise too: Simply install the calendar on someone’s desktop and open a certain webpage on a certain date, e.g. you could open up a birthday page when the person has birthday.

Too small to be effective. If you have outlook get outlookonthedesktop.com, and best of all its free!
I’ve been using Rainlendar for a year and love it. It’s not too small to be effective, and who wants a giant calendar taking up room anyway? Plus you can adjust the font size (the font you see when you hover the event) in the advanced options under ‘font scale’ from 100 to 200. The font is easily readable at that size.
Love it. small neat without ruining any other theme or setting on your desktop. Can sit discreetly in the corner, but provides everything you need!
I think its a pretty good gadget. Not too much flashy and spread all over the place. Pretty Neat. Some of the other gadgets such as weather etc can be placed per your liking.
I am running windows 7 but do not have Outlook. I wish to sync my Ipad and Iphone calendars, so I need a calender on my computer that can sync with Ipad and iphone contacts. Is yours do able.
thanks chris
