1. Step First of all navigate to
C:\Users\anik_HP\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Replace “anik_HP” with your Windows 8 user account name. (If you have installed windows 8 in other drive then replace “C” with the corresponding drive letter).
OR
Press (Windows + R) keys to open Run. Type
shell:startup
And hit OK.
In both cases the Startup folder will open.
2. Step Now, you need to create the shortcut of the programs which you want to launch at start up. Suppose I want to launch BitComet.exe at start up, so I have created a shortcut of that application. Finally, put the shortcut to the Startup folder. You are done.

To remove a program from Startup, you just need to delete the shortcut file of that particular program from the folder.
