Often it happens that you want to remove certain programs from your PC or Laptop which you feel that you don’t use enough, might be taking up a lot of your disk space or maybe you don’t intend to keep them anymore.
Also there might be programs that have gone corrupt and has been interfering with the working of your system. Such programs are sometimes virus infected. In short, you need to remove those programs from your system in order to create more disk space and also relieving your system of unnecessary junk.
Windows 7, like any other OS created by Microsoft makes it very easy to remove such programs. This function is known as ‘Add or Remove Programs’. But in Windows 7, this same function is known as ‘Programs and Features’ and it can be found in the Control Panel folder
If you need to remove a program or even modify its contents, all you need to do is open the start menu and click on Control Panel and then locate the ‘Programs and Features’ option (directly below should be a link Uninstall a program)
Once this option is selected, it displays all the programs that are installed
In order to uninstall and remove a particular program from your PC/Laptop select the programme from the list and click on the Uninstall/Change button. After a few seconds, either Windows Installer or the inherent programme run wizard will guide you to an uninstallation process.
After the uninstallation process is complete, the programme will be permanently deleted or removed from your computer. In the previous versions of the Windows, there used to be a sort of a statement in this function’s dialogue box through one could understand how often he or she uses the programme. But Windows 7 lacks this feature.
Some programs will not uninstall using the method above on Windows 7. I have had many installed programs that when I went to remove it an error/message will pop up and say something. Usually I go to 86x program in C:Drive under a Folder of this name: Programs x86 and look through the list and delete any listings of the program you are wanted removed from your PC.
