If you have recently upgraded to Catalyst Version 12.3 and always receive the message “In Order To Use The HydraVision Maxminize Feature The Desktop Must Be Perfectly Rectangular” when you open a new tab, here’s how to disable that message.
1. Step Right-click on the red AMD Vision tray icon and open the AMD Vision Control Center
2. Step Open the HydraVision menu and click on Maximize
3. Step Select Disabled for Entire Desktop or another shortcut other than CTRL
4. Step The next time you use CTRL + N to open a new tab you will no longer get the error
“In Order To Use The HydraVision Maxminize Feature The Desktop Must Be Perfectly Rectangular. This means that all Enabled monitors must be set to the same resolution and they must be aligned. To Change resolutions you can use the Windows Display Properties Settings tab.”
Do you have any other problems since upgrading to Catalyst 12.2? Make sure to upgrade to 12.3 that was released yesterday.
Thanks oliversk.
And the reciprocal value of my thanks to you will go to ATI.
Pretty sick they would choose to have it behave like this.
Because i think it has been a concious choice at some point and this was decided as thedefault behaviour.
Thanks you very much. I have no interest, whatsoever, in this feature, especially if it requires setting all my monitors to the same resolution. That it’s the default & this message keeps bugging me is quite offensive. I now hope I can completely uninstall software that keeps slapping me in the face for not doing what they think I should.
I just figured out how to get around this without messing with your resolutions. Just open up the VM, drag it across both or all screens and then doubleclick the top to maximize and it will work on all monitors like a champ with extended displays. Not sure why it’s so simple but I do it everyday.
