Are you trying to play any games that require Microsoft Live? Games for Windows Live is a pretty cool service, but it can also cause a lot of trouble. Sometimes Windows 7 and Vista will give you some weird errors, e.g. that xinput1_3.dll or xlive.dll is missing.

This is a description what you can do to fix the problem.

Download xinput1_3.dll

First of all, you should download the dll file “xinput1_3.dll”:
Download xinput1_3.dll

I’ve uploaded it to our server, so that it will be available whenever you read this post.
Make sure to copy the xinput1_3.dll into your game folder, as well as your Windows/system32 folder.
Note: When the dll file is inside the game folder it will try to use this dll first. If it’s not there it will look into the system folder.

Install Games for Windows Live

Next, the system might say that another dll is missing: xlive.dll.
I don’t recommend to put xlive.dll into the game folder, because I can’t guarantee that it will work. Instead you should download and install “Games for Windows Live”.
